Ultra-precise lasers can be used for optical atomic clocks, quantum computers, power cable monitoring, and much more. But all lasers make noise, which researchers from DTU Fotonik want to minimize using machine learning.
Ognjen Jovanovic, PhD student at DTU Fotonik, presented his research at the ECOC 21 conference - the largest conference on optical communications in Europe. He spoke as one of only ten finalists selected for the ADVA Best Student Paper Award - and he became runner-up. In this article, he answers four questions about the experience...
Machine learning and artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly important tools in the development of the energy efficient internet and data transmission of the future. DTU is strengthening the area with the appointment of Group Leader Darko Zibar as Professor at DTU Fotonik.
DTU researchers receive four out of ten Danish Consolidator Grants from the European Research Council (ERC).
Associate Professor Darko Zibar from DTU Fotonik has recieved the SAOT Young Researcher Award in Optical Technologies. The award is presented by the Erlangen Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies at FAU, and comes with prize money of 100.000 euros and a one-year guest researcher position at FAU.
