Quantum cryptography is a field of immense progress. In addition to being enriched by a number of new research breakthroughs during the last 5 years, the field has also been witnessing a partial transition from research to innovation. In the present review, the authors provide a general introduction to the field as well as reviewing state-of-the-art concepts, security proofs and experiments.
