Continuous variable quantum optics has with recent demonstrations gained high interest as a quantum computation platform. Here, operations are induced by local projective measurements on a photonic cluster state, which can be deterministically generated allowing for scalable quantum computation. In this work, we carry out a detailed noise and architecture analysis for different proposed and demonstrated schemes within this cluster state platform, providing important directions for the development of photonic quantum computing.
