Congratulations to Dennis for a successful defense of his PhD work

Thursday 08 Apr 21

Dennis has successfully defended his PhD thesis on the development of ultra-high quality mechanical oscillators on March 19. Within his PhD work, Dennis has developed radically new ultra-coherent mechanical oscillators with extra-ordinary long coherence times. When poking these mechanical oscillators, they will swing for many minutes in a room temperature environment. The project was carried out in collaborative work between DTU Physics and DTU Mechanical Engineering, and supervised by Ulrik Andersen and Ole Sigmund. The PhD work was thoroughly examined by the three opponents; Anja Boisen from DTU Health, Eva Weig from TUM and Guillermo Villanueva from EPFL.

Dennis has been appointed a position at DTU physics and will thus stay in QPIT developing mechanical oscillators and other nanodevices.
